In this advanced-level course, Jeff Finkelstein and his team of SEO experts will dive into the specifics of how to get your site up to the top of search engine rankings.

The seminar will be very interactive, and we'll use real examples from people attending to make sure the topics are as relevant as possible.

Everyone who signs up will have an opportunity to:

  • Attend an optional, SEO 101 introductory Web Seminar to give you the basics of search engine optimization, prior to the workshop.
  • Review your site with the Customer Paradigm's staff, prior to the workshop.
  • Receive a SEO Site Review & Analysis, including how your site ranks for up to 15 keywords on all of the top search engines.
  • Learn how to either optimize sites properly, or how to best work with someone to optimize the site.

  • How to communicate to management that SEO matters and influences the bottom line (as well as how to get your SEO budget approved painlessly).
  • How to work with web developers to make sure SEO is built-in when designing or maintaining a site.
  • How to set realistic expectations for SEO success, including timelines and ROI.
  • How to measure and track your SEO expenditures.
       How to Pick The Right Keywords:
  • It's easy to optimize a site for keywords that nobody will use to search for a site.
  • It's more challenging to pick the correct keywords that will generate better qualified visitors to your website.
  • Learn how to pick the right keywords for SEO, including three top methods for finding top-performing keywords for your site.
  • We'll go through a series of practical exercises that you can use by yourself or with your team to generate lists of specific keywords.
  • You'll learn the difference between exact match and phrase match searching, as well as how to use negative keywords to prevent unwanted traffic to your site.
  • You'll also receive an Excel spreadsheet tool that allows you to combine words quickly and easily to generate lists of specific keywords for pages.
       How to Generate SEO-Friendly Content:
  • Learn easy ways to add additional content that you already have inside your organization to increase the relevancy of the site, as well as boost SEO.
  • Social Media strategies for user-generated content.
  • Learn what content is helpful, and what really doesn't make much of a difference.

  • Alt Text for Images - often overlooked, but easy to do
  • Meta Keywords, Description (why they are helpful but not used much by search engines)
  • How to use flash properly (and how to not have your site be completely invisible to search engines)
  • Pointer Domain Names & micro sites
  • Strategies for positioning relevant text on a page or site
  • Best ways to create links to other pages within your site
  • Inbound link strategies (how to get on the .gov, .edu or other sites that
    matter)
  • Social Media techniques (Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and others)
  • How often to update pages on your site
  • Why a site map isn't just for helping people find their way (it's great for search engines)
  • XML Site Maps explained (to make sure your site is indexed).
  • Cost Per Click (CPC) strategies to supplement organic search results with paid search engine advertising.

Jeff Finkelstein - Customer Paradigm Jeff Finkelstein is the founder and President of Customer Paradigm, an interactive website development and marketing firm he founded in Boulder, Colorado.

Considered an expert on Internet privacy and web marketing, Finkelstein's clients include 3M, Shell, Xcel Energy, Johns Hopkins University and Adventure Rabbi.
